About
Me
Welcome to my glass world!
I've been fascinated and in love with beads &
glass for as far back as I can remember.
In 1994 I was lucky enough to find out about a 1 day
"lampworking" workshop that happened not too far from
where I lived (which was still an hour and a half away from my home
in the remote 'outback' of Cazadero, California). I went to that
workshop with no idea about what was about to happen, except that
I knew I loved glass & beads and it seemed like it was about
time I put the two together myself.
Well, no surprise, I fell hard and passionately in
love with this artform and craft. Awhile later I did a work trade
with a local fabulous glass blower, named Sonny Cresswell of Seaview
Glass in Cazadero, for studio time, much closer to home. I was able
to fit in some hours here and there in the next few years...
In 2002, I heard about Red
Deer College in Alberta, Canada and how they were becoming
the "Pilchuck of the North". They offered week-long workshops
with various glass masters. So I packed up to Canada for a fantastic
week of learning and lampworking with one of the best beadmakers
around--Leah
Fairbanks. I did pretty well considering I didn't yet
own my own equipment, and learned many new techniques. Thanks Leah
and Red Deer!
But alas, I went home to no torch, no kiln and no
glass...
All this time, I was a seriously frustrated and underpracticed
artisan. I really needed my own equipment!! Finally a full
year after that workshop (and 8 years after my first workshop), I had saved some $$, ordered
a kiln, and was given a torch by my old neighbor and glass blower,
Sonny Cresswell (formerly owned by Judy Bruff). So in August of
2003, I set up the workshop that you see below, in a little tiny
room next to my kitchen in my apartment here in San Francisco.

Since then, I have been trying to become a better
and better glass artist with every day and every chance I get to
work and practice. WetCanvas.com's
Glass Artists' group has been a huge source of inspiration,
learning and support for me.
As of this year, the Fall of 2008, I have sold some of my work here on this website, on Ebay, and in the occassional
shop or show. Last Summer I had a shed built in my backyard for my new glass studio ~ partly so that I could offer classes. Here's my new workspace (next to my Honeybees!):

Thanks for coming by and seeing my work ~
